The swimming pool at Okura Prestige Hotel in Bangkok probably isn’t suitable for those with vertigo, as the water seems to blend into the skyline and it feels as if you could just tumble over the edge! Don’t worry though, we checked and there is a hidden ledge. The view from here is breathtaking. Okura Prestige Bangkok has gone all out with the rest of the facilities as well: a bar juts out another side of the building, a 24 hour gym as well as two amazing restaurants, one serving Japanese specialities and the other dishing up international delights. All rooms come with a view of the Bangkok skyline and complimentary Wi-Fi. It’s not only the pool at Okura Prestige that has the wow factor, the rest of the hotel is equally as impressive, with plenty of polished marble and a large modern sculpture balancing high above you the main atrium. Incredibly cool and so hip it almost hurts, W Hotel in Bangkok has surprises and delights around every corner. The swimming pool here looks good at any time of the day, but the best view is from above, when it looks a little like a Salvador Dali eye, the silver curved eyelash providing shade during sunny day, and a pair of bronze cats playing in the shallow end. At night it’s more disco than poolside, with neon lights in the cabanas and a play of lights across the water. Head inside and the W Hotel Bangkok is just as playful: large glittery boxing gloves on the bed give an extra edge to pillow fights and you can enjoy a sugar high with the Willy Wonka inspired Munchie Box. The neon purple Woo Bar on the ground floor completes the party, where you can enjoy cocktails whilst the DJ spins some tunes. Read More...

Flowing ever so slightly downhill, the pool is crossed by footpaths but can be swum under easily before widening into a rectangular shape overlooking the mighty Chao Phraya River. From this exclusive vantage point you can soak up this interesting river vista – at times bustling with longtail boats and barges, and at others totally tranquil. The pool at Hansar Hotel in Bangkok, runs the whole length of the building, and although isn’t on a particularly high floor, it is pretty amazing to swim surrounded by Bangkok’s famous skyscrapers.
