Somboon Seafood

The long-running Somboon Seafood chain opened up its seventh store in Bangkok to mark its 45th anniversary, and this Central Embassy branch is probably the classiest of the bunch. From the humble beginnings of a small shop house near Siam, Somboon has become synonymous with crab curry, and this was actually where the famous ‘phad-phong-karee’ (fried crab with yellow curry) originated.

Head to level five in Central Embassy to try the original recipe, just expect to pay a bit more for the prime location. Other recommended dishes include their spicy pork stew, deep fried rock lobster with garlic and classic tom yam goong.
