But there are also stand-alone restaurants that you can find amongst the warren-like thoroughfares of Siam Square market. One thing is for sure, with our guide you will never be stuck for somewhere to eat in Siam!

Possibly one of the nicest places to eat in Siam, the café is surrounded by water and greenery along with exotic butterflies and birds. A tour of the teakwood mansion after or before a meal is definitely a great way gain an insightful glimpse at the silk trade in Thailand and the life of the American who led it to be so prevalent on a global scale, Jim Thompson. As the name suggests, Yellow Tail Sushi Bar is an exceptional Japanese restaurant for anyone looking for premium cuts of the best sushi and sashimi, flown fresh from Japan three times a week. There are so many Japanese restaurants in Bangkok serving tuna belly and wagyu steak nowadays that some people have mistakenly started to lump them all in together – but mark my words, the quality of the produce here is far higher than any of those shopping mall franchise bento box restaurants. Open every day for dinner between 18:00 and 22:00, and 11:30 to 14:30 on weekends, this is an excellent option for a special occasion when only the best is good enough. YTSB is located on the third floor of a building connected to VIE Hotel. Read More...

    Café Chilli (Siam Paragon)

    Café Chilli

This restaurant bistro serves a modern mix of Thai dishes with an emphasis on 'Isaan' (the northeastern region of Thailand) food. The laidback surroundings of Café Chilli are an excellent place to sample the famed dishes of the region, which is known for its powerful use of flavours. Servings are small and each has an individual taste due to the bold use of herbs and spices, so it’s best to order several dishes for the table to share so you can get the right blend of fiery spice, biting citrus and bitter herb flavours. This is exactly the kind of food that tourists come back to Thailand to find. It also boasts a shaded outdoor patio area – perfect for relaxing with a drink in hand.

Red Sky is one of the tallest rooftop bars and restaurant in Bangkok. While it doesn't offer striking riverside or treetop views that other rooftop bars enjoy, it has a pretty impressive 360-degree panoramic vista from the 55th floor – in one of the most convenient locations in town. Red Sky bar is part of the Centara Grand Hotel, which itself is actually part of this gigantic CentralWorld shopping mall in Siam. There's a good selection of sophisticated European cuisine which is a bit pricey without being too extravagant. The cocktail and wine list are long enough so you're sure to find the perfect drink to go with your lamb or imported beef. Read More...

    Uno Mas Restaurant

Uno Mas is an upmarket Spanish restaurant that has stunning views from the 54th floor of Centara Grand at CentralWorld, high above CentralWorld shopping mall in Siam. The menu is a collection of intricate tapas plates, premium seafood, including a selection of lobsters, oysters, shrimp and clams. The cured meats on display at Uno Mas must be the most diverse and well stocked in Bangkok. Although expensive, we would take a portion of Joselito Ibirico ham (790 baht), sliced straight from the leg, over any other cold cut – from Spain or anywhere else.

Uno Mas was designed to bring you the best Mediterranean flavors coupled with stunning views from the (almost) rooftop where you will get to look over the iconic Bangkok skyline as you dine. The famous Red Sky rooftop bar is just one floor above the restaurant. Read More...

The heart-warming idea of going to grandma’s house for some traditional home cooking is something that transcends boundaries and is exactly the kind of feeling you get at Ban Khun Mae Restaurant. Ban Khun Mae is actually a bit of an anomaly, located in the heart of Siam Square, the uber-cool shopping area popular with young city kids and university students. This is a great restaurant to visit if you are trying famous Thai dishes for the first time as the chef flavours dishes to suit stereotypical Western tastes and nothing is overpowered with spice. Tom yum kung, chicken with cashew nuts, som tam, and spring rolls are all firm favourites here and are popular with tourists but also with a few locals – always an encouraging sign. Read More...
